Weight & Balance Calculator

Enter each loading station — its weight and its arm (distance from the datum) — to get your total weight, total moment, and center of gravity. Then check both against your aircraft's envelope.

CG = total moment ÷ total weight. Check the result against your aircraft's weight-and-balance envelope in the POH — being within gross weight does not guarantee the CG is in limits.

How weight & balance works

Each item you load has a weight and an arm (its distance from the aircraft's datum). Weight × arm = moment. Add up all the weights and all the moments, then divide total moment by total weight to find the center of gravity (CG). Both the total weight and the CG must fall inside the limits published in your POH — staying under gross weight is not enough if the CG is out of range.
