Compressor Stall

What is compressor stall?

A compressor stall occurs in a turbine engine when one or more stages of the compressor blades stop moving air smoothly, often due to a mismatch between airflow and engine speed, and can be detected by rising exhaust temperatures or RPM fluctuations. If not corrected, it can lead to engine flameout or serious internal damage.
