Gross Weight
What is gross weight?
Gross weight is the total weight of an aircraft, equal to its basic empty weight plus its useful load (which includes fuel, oil, passengers, baggage, and cargo). It represents how much the aircraft actually weighs at a given moment. Think of it as the "all-up" weight—what the aircraft truly weighs when you add everything to the empty airframe; it must never exceed the maximum gross weight set by the manufacturer.
