Graveyard Spiral
What is graveyard spiral?
A spatial disorientation illusion in which a pilot in a prolonged, coordinated, constant-rate turn loses the sensation of turning. Believing the aircraft is flying straight, the pilot may allow it to descend in the turn, then re-enter the turn to stop the descent—tightening the spiral and potentially losing control. Think of it as your inner ear "forgetting" you're turning, so you trust the feeling instead of your instruments.
