Pitch
What is pitch?
Pitch is the up-or-down movement of an aircraft's nose, rotating around the lateral axis (the wingtip-to-wingtip axis). It is primarily controlled by the elevator, which raises or lowers the nose to change the aircraft's pitch attitude. Think of it as nodding "yes"—the nose pointing up or down.
Also known as: pitch attitude, pitch axis
