What is squall line?
A squall line is a narrow band of active thunderstorms, often forming along or ahead of a vigorous cold front in moist, unstable air—though it can also develop far from any front. These lines can be too long to detour around and too severe to fly through, making them especially hazardous. Think of it as a wall of storms lined up in a row, blocking your path.
