Visibility
What is visibility?
Visibility is the greatest horizontal distance at which prominent objects can be seen and identified with the naked eye. Standard weather reports give horizontal surface visibility, usually expressed as a linear distance (in statute miles in the United States). Along with cloud cover and ceiling, it's a key factor in determining whether weather meets visual flight rules (VFR) minimums. Think of it as: how far down the road you can clearly see.
