LeTourneau University is a private nonprofit university in Longview, Texas, whose College of Aviation & Aeronautical Science operates from the Abbott Aviation Center at East Texas Regional Airport. It offers associate and bachelor's programs spanning professional flight, aircraft maintenance (FAA Part 147 A&P), aviation management, aircraft dispatch, and unmanned aircraft systems. LeTourneau University is a private, interdenominational evangelical Christian university in Longview, Texas. Founded as LeTourneau Technical Institute in February 1946 by R. G. LeTourneau with his wife, Evelyn, the school initially educated veterans returning from World War II. Total annual enrollment is nearly 3,000.
