Maximum Takeoff Weight
What is maximum takeoff weight?
Maximum takeoff weight is the greatest weight at which an aircraft is approved to begin its takeoff run. It accounts for the aircraft itself plus fuel, passengers, cargo, and any other load present at the moment takeoff begins. Think of it as the heaviest your airplane is legally allowed to be when you start rolling down the runway.
Also known as: MTOW, maximum allowable takeoff weight
