What is overboost?
Overboost happens when a piston engine's intake manifold pressure exceeds the manufacturer's limit, which can damage engine parts. Similar exceedance terms include overspeed (too many RPM), overtemp (too much heat), and overtorque (too much twisting force), all of which can harm the engine.
