What is omnibearing selector?
The omnibearing selector (OBS) is the knob on a VHF Omnidirectional Range (VOR) indicator that you turn to select your desired course. As you rotate it, the chosen course is aligned with the course index mark or shown in the course window, telling the instrument which radial you want to fly to or from the station. Think of it as the "course-picker" dial—you dial in the radial, then fly to center the needle.
