Situational Awareness
What is situational awareness?
Situational awareness is the accurate perception and understanding of all the factors and conditions affecting flight safety—the aircraft, the environment, external pressures, and the pilot—before, during, and after a flight. Maintaining it requires rapidly switching between competing information sources and tasks while keeping a collective view of the big picture and anticipating how conditions will change. Think of it as always knowing "where I am, what's happening, and what's coming next."
