The turn and slip indicator is a rate gyroscopic flight instrument that shows the pilot how fast the aircraft is rotating about its vertical (yaw) axis. It combines a turn rate needle (driven by a gyroscope) with a ball that shows whether the turn is coordinated, slipping, or skidding. Think of it as your "rate of turn plus quality of turn" gauge—step on the ball to stay coordinated.
