Angle Of Attack
What is angle of attack?
Angle of attack is the angle formed between the relative wind (the direction of the oncoming air) and the chord line of the wing (an imaginary line from the wing's leading edge to its trailing edge). As angle of attack increases, lift increases—up to the critical angle of attack (typically around 18°), beyond which the wing stalls. Remember: a stall is caused by exceeding the critical angle of attack, which can happen at any airspeed and any nose attitude.
