What is area forecast?
An Area Forecast (FA) is an aviation weather report that gives a broad picture of clouds, general weather conditions, and expected visual meteorological conditions (VMC) over a large region covering several states. It helps pilots anticipate en route weather and conditions at airports that don't issue their own forecasts. Think of it as the "big-picture" weather outlook for a whole region, rather than a single airport.
