What is longitudinal axis?
The longitudinal axis is an imaginary line running through an aircraft from nose to tail, passing through its center of gravity. Rotation around this axis is called roll, which is controlled by the ailerons. Think of it as the axis you'd "roll" around like a barbecue spit running from nose to tail.
